Steve Messer
Assistant Director of Training
Steve Messer comes to GTI with 21 years of experience as a member of the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams. He is a well-rounded field operator and experienced instructor who, as a member of the SEALS, was personally selected for numerous special assignments requiring specialized skills and operational expertise.
As the NCOIC of the Naval Special Warfare Center at Det Hurlburt, Steve served as a back-up instructor for USSOCOM Joint Special Operations University and was responsible for Naval Special Warfare indoctrination and operations history to senior level officers and personnel assigned to diplomatic or Special Operations Commands.
Steve also served as a SEAL Team Operator / and Lead Advanced Sniper Trainer SEAL Team 8, Evasion and Recovery Subject Matter Expert for Naval Special Warfare Group, SERE Instructor at the Naval Survival School, and Sniper Instructor, Lead Climber and Explosive Breacher for SEAL Team 2.
As a member of the Navy’s coveted Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Steve was a Lead Climber and Sniper Element Leader and conducted worldwide operational deployments and several JCS directed contingency exercises.
Steve has conducted training for the United States Secret Service, FBI HRT, LAPD SWAT, Department of Energy and several other law enforcement agencies.
