GTI Monthly Mission Brief
February Client Spotlight and News

In February I look forward to working again with long time clients: Santa Ana PD and their Homeland Security Division (UASI) where we will train 60 of their men and women, as well as our friends in Knox County EMA in TN, where we are developing a custom swat class for 25 of their officers. We are also privileged to come back to our old stomping grounds in Boise Idaho to put on a basic swat class for 30 of the areas finest. Also welcome back USAF out of McChord. We look forward working with you and conducting a custom fast rope and rappelling course for your unit.

A special welcome to our clients at the Virgin Islands PD, who will be sending 12 officers to our Barnwell, SC facility for a Type 3 Swat Class. We loved working with you back in 2007 and are glad you have come back in 2012.

Thank you for all you do!

If I can be of assistance in any training needs you may have, please feel free to contact me directly and at any time!

SOF Grows as Services Shrink

February 08, 2012 - Military.com - by Matthew Cox

As the U.S. military prepares to downsize its conventional strength, it will grow its special operations forces enough to keep a continuous presence around the globe.

Key leaders from U.S. Special Operations Command sent a clear message to the defense industry Tuesday that elite forces would not be scaling back on real-world missions despite the Pentagon's plans to cut $487 billion in defense spending growth over the next 10 years.

With emphasis being placed on smaller more surgical units, the need for real world mission training is critical. The Government Training Institutes Joint Operations Center provides real world mission training spanning all aspects of missions.

Officer Survival Course

There is no way to predict the future and the events a police officer may encounter are most-often sudden, violent and unexpected. These situations become very fluid and dynamic. Officers who have prepared themselves mentally and physically often hold the key to survival in that preparation. GTI's Officer Survival Course is three days, 24 hours in length. It's a unique mixture of lecture and Force of Force situations. GTI provides all equipment and converted training weapons. Officers only need BDU's, a duty holster and belt, eye and ear protection, their sidearm, 350 rounds of ammo, and a learning attitude.

If interested in bringing this course to your area, feel free to contact me directly for a proposal!
