A Word from GTI's President

Emergency preparedness is an important responsibility shared by all -- individuals, law enforcement professionals, communities and schools. In order to advance school preparedness nationwide, DHS offers several planning and training resources to help local schools prepare comprehensive all-hazard emergency preparedness plans that are exercised regularly and developed in partnership with their community leaders.

Idaho State University recently announced that the Department of Homeland Security Office of Grants & Training approved the Immediate Action Team curriculum. This designation allows law enforcement professionals the opportunity to secure DHS funding for Immediate Action Team Course tuition, overtime, meals, lodging and other associated costs.

The five-day Immediate Action Team Course covers 14 separate modules which identify proven tactics and techniques for smaller first responder elements in dealing with an active shooter and the initial response to a terrorist incident. There hasn't been a better opportunity for law enforcement professionals seeking training that combines instruction with practical application!
