The Forgotten War Featured on KPVI
Video News Footage of GTIKPVI reporter Aaron Kunz attended GTIs training camp and prepared a special report that aired for five consecutive days on Idaho's news stations. It was the first time a member of the media was allowed to view the curriculum. 
New Course Offered
Introduction to Terrorism
Peter N SpagnoloThe Government Training Institutes's Intro to Terrorism is an 8 hour lecture course designed for first responders and their supervisors and provides insight to the methodology, mindset and tactics used by terror organizations around the world.
 
The class is taught by GTI's Senior Terrorism Instructor, Peter N Spagnolo, who brings his real world experience from counter terrorism operations in Kuwait, Kenya, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.  In this class, students learn how to:
  • Expect the unexpected
  • Recover from a strike
  • Analyze strengths and weaknesses
  • Identify terrorist traps for first responders
GTI's 30+ courses contain a cooperative curriculum base and ongoing research from the staff with 400 years of operational military and law enforcement experience. We look forward to hearing from you.

GTI Instructors Co-Author Publication: Countering Terrorism and Insurgency in the 21st Century 
GTI's president Chadd Harbaugh and senior terrorism expert Peter Spagnolo recently co-authored Countering Terrorism and Insurgency in the 21st Century.
The book was edited by Professor James Forest who teaches at West Point's Combating Terrorism Center.
The publication consists of three volumes with an indepth look at the role of state and local police departments play in combating terrorism along with an emphasis on SWAT.
 
 
Top Student Award
 
Lieutenant John Bishop with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Divisoin was named the "Top Shooter" during his participation in GTI's Type 1 SWAT course.  He won  a Gen II Target System.  Nice work Lieutenant!
