Chris Starr
Instructor
Chris comes to GTI with a combined 15 years of Military and Law Enforcement experience completing enlistments in the 82d Airborne and the New Mexico National Guard prior to joining a local Sheriff’s Department in the southwest.
While in Law Enforcement, Chris has held assignments in Patrol, Community Policing, Street Crimes and the Training Section. His participation in numerous specialty assignments include: Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Intermediate Force Instructor, Officer Safety/Survival Instructor, and Emergency Response Team where he was assigned as a Team Leader, Basic Academy Drill Instructor and the SWAT Team where he currently serves on the Entry Team as one of its senior members.
During his time with the SWAT Team, Chris has gained considerable operational experience in basic and advanced SWAT tactics, techniques and procedures through numerous violent offender searches, barricaded subject call-outs, and high risk narcotics and violent crimes search warrant services in both high-threat and CBRNE environments.
